John Lacey is a chartered fellow of IOSH and a former president (2003-04). He has spent more than 35 years in health and safety and is the managing director of Lincsafe (Health and Safety) ltd. He is also a consultant to various national construction organisations and process operators. An international lecturer, John is the current chairman of the IOSH Construction Group.

In 2001 Peter was awarded the Silver Medal at the CIOB’s Building Manager of the Year.

Philip Baker, Association for Project Safety (APS), President

Philip has worked in construction health and safety risk management since 1994. A Director of APS since 2001 Philip has also been the Association’s President since 2008. Philip contributed to the working group establishing the competence measures for the Association’s Fellows and helped shape the revised entry criteria following the 2007 revision to the CDM regs. Philip has lectured widely on the issue of competence.
Geoff Hooke, British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF), Secretariat

In 1992 the Dti suggested the creation of a trade body for the UK Safety Industry. Geoff was the author of the structure and brought together senior safety industry managers in its creation. Geoff then managed the newly formed British Safety Industry Federation in 1994, this new concept of “lead trade bodies” provides an active link between government and industry sectors.

Brian Middlemiss, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building

Brian Middlemiss spent over ten years as building services manager with Nestlé UK Ltd in London overseeing projects in excess of £2 million involving a broad spectrum of construction skills, roofing and health and safety playing a predominant role. Brian also spent a further eight years as a senior contracts manager. Brian is now a leading practitioner on best practice throughout the industry.

Jane Thornback, Sustainability Policy Advisor, Construction Products Association

Jane Thornback is Sustainability Policy Advisor at the Construction Products Association, she is also Coordinator of the Strategic Forum for Construction’s Sustainable Construction Task Group, and sits on the Government and industry delivery board for the Strategy for Sustainable Construction.  She also helped initiate the work to develop BRE and BSI standards for responsible sourcing of construction products.
Amy Baldry, Group Environmental Manager, Costain (Member of the UK Contractors Group)

With over 10 years experience in the field of Environmental Management within the construction industry, both working at site construction level and over the last 7 years at a more corporate level.
